The Manchester Wheelers' Race Meets were world famous. During the period of the late 1940's until the Fallowfield track closed in 1975, Johnny Berry and then Norman Grattage were promoters for a good number of years with: Tom MacDonald, Financial Secretary; Len Myatt, Advertising Secretary; Jack Fletcher, Main Sponsor. The riders and officials who appear in the following photographs, which are in no particular order, were Olympic, World and National Champions from around the world and the cream of Great Britain's track and road riders. |
